Hybrid (2 days/week)

HHA offers a 4=2-day week for our scholars enrolled part time. This 2-day week has 2 separate tracks—1 academic only, 1 enrichment only. The academic-only track is heavy on math and reading/writing with the integration of a little science/history, project-based learning, and/or enrichment (art, etc.) The enrichment-only only track is heavy on social time, science labs, history, and the electives (art, music, subjects of interest, nature integration, farm & garden integration, etc.) This track allows you, as the parent, lead core subjects from home.

Academic track: Tuesday & Thursdays| Enrichment track: Mondays & Wednesdays

Experiential trips & off-campus learning days will be open to all HHA students regardless of track. These will be scheduled in advance (and maybe some on a whim)!

Age Groups Serviced

Age is not the only determining factor in grouping. Each child’s social & academic skills will be observed for grouping as well.

Foundations: Lower School (4 years-7 years)

Our 4-7 year-old class is primarily play-based, where curious minds explore, create, and grow through hands-on learning. Teachings are heavily inspired by Waldorf and Montessori learning approaches, while the curriculum is developed based on specific group interests & needs (child-led). Through sensory play, movement, and meaningful experiences, children develop fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional growth, and problem-solving abilities. Pre-formative academic skills, like early literacy, math concepts, and critical thinking, are introduced in a developmentally appropriate way, laying a strong foundation for future learning. As children progress within lower school, they will explore stories, ideas, and hands-on experiences that strengthen essential skills like comprehension, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. Through interactive storytelling, engaging discussions, and creative projects, students will develop a strong academic foundation while fostering curiosity and a love for learning.

Class times (for both full-time & hybrid tracks): 9am-12pm

Builders: Middle School (typically ages 8-11)

Our middle school class is a dynamic, multi-age environment designed for strong, independent readers & thinkers. Through project-based learning and hands-on experiences, students deepen their understanding of core subjects while exploring their individual interests. With an emerging learner focused approach, we foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for lifelong learning. This class has an emphasis on foundational skills, especially in reading and math, with a healthy mix of Waldorf-inspired whimsy to keep the child at play.

Class times (for both full-time & hybrid tracks): 9am-1pm

Apprentices/Leaders: Upper School (typically ages 12-18)

Our upper school class is where children really start learning themselves, their likes & interests. This grouping is designed to build on each child’s individual interest and future plans. As students progress, they have the opportunity to take classes for college credit, work with industry leaders to hone chosen skills, attend trips to broaden cultural perspective and global views, and be an active part of their own learning paths.

Class times (for both full-time & hybrid tracks): 10:30am-2pm
